May 5, 2010— -- When authorities pulled Faisal Shahzad from a plane this week as he tried to flee the country, they were quick to tout the success of the investigation: just 53 hours from incident to arrest. The naturalized U.S. citizen, 30, faces five terrorism-related charges in connection to the faulty SUV bomb placed in Times Square Saturday night.

"This incident is another sobering reminder of the times in which we live," President Obama said Tuesday. "Around the world and here at home, there are those who would attack our citizens and who would slaughter innocent men, women and children."

While an attack was averted this time and Shahzad was successfully apprehended, there still appear to be problems with security.

Shahzad was able to pass through airport security and board a plane bound for Dubai. The plane was preparing for takeoff when Customs officials realized that he was on a no-fly list.

And, of course, although there was no explosion, a car bomb was successfully planted in Times Square.

Our question to you today: Although authorities quickly nabbed Shahzad in this case, do you think we're safe from terrorism?
