April 12, 2010— -- Monday's announcement of Pulitzer Prize winners included a first in the world of political cartoons. Mark Fiore, a self-syndicated cartoonist whose animations appear on various Web sites, including the San Francisco Chronicle's sfgate.com, became the first cartoonist to win the Pulitzer Prize for work that does not appear in print. The Pulitzer jury said Fiore's "biting wit, extensive research and ability to distill complex issues set a high standard for an emerging form of commentary."

In today's Conversation Diane Sawyer spoke with Fiore, 40, about what it is like to be the first animator to win a Pulitzer for his cartoons. Fiore is primarily a one-man operation, and so taking a day off is rarely an option, Fiore told Sawyer. But how does find the time to animate and run his business? What have been his favorite pieces over the years, and which political figures were his favorite to animate?

All this and more in today's Conversation. And if you want to see even more of Fiore's work when you are done watching, head to by clicking here.
