Grammys 2024 recap: Biggest moments from music's biggest night

All eyes are on SZA tonight as she topped the list of nominees this year with nine nods, including album of the year for "SOS," song of the year and record of the year for "Kill Bill" and best melodic rap performance for "Low."

Close behind with seven nods each are Phoebe Bridgers, Serban Ghenea and Victoria Monét.

Jack Antonoff, Jon Batiste, boygenius, Brandy Clark, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift are all up for six nominations tonight.

If SZA wins album of the year, she could become the first Black woman to win in that category this century. The last Black woman to win album of the year was Lauryn Hill for "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" in 1999.

The Grammys Premiere Ceremony, during which the majority of the night's Grammy Awards are announced, was held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles ahead of tonight's telecast. Several artists involved with the "Barbie" soundtrack took home early awards.

Billie Eilish and Finneas won best song written for visual media for "What Was I Made For?" while Mark Ronson and several producers behind "Barbie the Album" won for best compilation soundtrack for visual media.

In addition to the night's "Barbie" winners, Victoria Monét took home the award for best R&B Album for "JAGUAR II" and Chris Stapleton won best country song for his single "White Horse." The award for best rock performance went to boygenius for their song "Not Strong Enough."

Artists who performed at the ceremony included Brandy Clark, Kirk Franklin and Laufey.

Presenters for the 66th Grammy Awards were announced earlier this week.

They include Christina Aguilera, Samara Joy, Lenny Kravitz, Maluma, Lionel Richie, Mark Ronson, Meryl Streep, Taylor Tomlinson and Oprah Winfrey.

The Recording Academy also teased that other surprise guests will take to the stage.

Last year, Harry Styles took home the coveted album of the year trophy for "Harry's House." Song of the year went to Bonnie Raitt for "Just Like That," while Lizzo won record of the year for "About Damn Time." Samara Joy also took home the trophy for best new artist.

History was also made during the 65th annual Grammy Awards when Beyoncé became the artist with the most Grammys ever after she won four of the nine categories for which she was nominated. She now holds the record of most Grammy wins with 32 trophies.
