ABC announces new fall shows including 'black-ish' prequel, Tiffany Haddish hosted series

ABC announced a slew of new shows for the fall earlier this week and we are here to give you the skinny on what exactly is coming your way.

As previously announced, a "black-ish" prequel show on Tracee Ellis Ross's beloved character is on the way, along with a Cobie Smulders-led thriller and a Tiffany Haddish hosted series as well.

Here's the breakdown.

"mixed-ish"

In “mixed-ish,” the show will dive into the 1980's and look back on the childhood of "black-ish" star, Rainbow.

As the trailer shows, Rainbow was living with her family on a commune in 1985 before the group's leaders got in trouble with the law.

She hilariously tells her family what it was like to go from a much more laid back lifestyle to her family moving to the suburbs, where she would eventually meet her husband, Dre.

"As her parents struggle with the challenges of their new life, Bow and her siblings navigate a mainstream school in which they’re perceived as neither black nor white. This family’s experiences illuminate the challenges of finding one’s own identity when the rest of the world can’t decide where you belong," the official description reads.

"mixed-ish" will air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.

"Stumptown"

This sounds epic.

"Based on the Stumptown graphic novel series," the description explains that the show follows "Dex Parios (Cobie Smulders) — a strong, assertive and sharp-witted army veteran with a complicated love life, gambling debt and a brother to take care of in Portland, Oregon. Her military intelligence skills make her a great PI, but her unapologetic style puts her in the firing line of hardcore criminals and not quite in alliance with the police."

In the trailer, Smulders is trapped in the trunk of a car by two mean looking individuals, but she breaks out and wreaks havoc on them.

"Stumptown" is set for Wednesdays at 10 p.m.

"Emergence"

This nail-biter is about a police chief who takes in a young child she finds at an accident.

Twist is the child "has no memory of what has happened" and "The investigation draws her into a conspiracy larger than she ever imagined, and the child's identity is at the center of it all."

"Emergence" will air Tuesdays at 10 p.m.

"Kids Say the Darndest Things"

Last but not least, we have the incomparable Tiffany Haddish.

No trailer here, but it was announced that Haddish will produce and host a new reboot of "Kids Say the Darndest Things."

"The series will capture Haddish's unique voice and sensibility as she interacts with real kids — and their innocently entertaining points of view," the description reads.

It adds, "Each episode highlights the comedic perspectives of a diverse group of kids in segments, such as ... 'Love Talk,' where Tiffany seeks advice on her love life; 'Best Carpool Ever,' with Tiffany taking on carpool duty with a minivan full of kids; 'Granny Tiff,' when Tiffany, in prosthetics and dressed up as an older woman, receives technology advice from the kids; and more."

"Kids Say the Darndest Things" will air Sundays at 8 p.m.
