— -- "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is almost 40 years in the making, which means ticket prices were a lot cheaper when the first movie in the iconic franchise, "A New Hope," came out in 1977.

ABC News compiled all the old footage through the six original films, from the late 1970's all the way up to the present and "Episode VII."

"To us, this isn't just a movie, this is something very special," one fan, camped out in line, says.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is produced by Lucasfilm, a subsidiary of Disney, which is the parent company of ABC News.
