Dec. 17, 2009 — -- Veteran Washington, D.C. newspaper reporter Matt Mosk is joining the ABC News investigative team, ABC News announced today.
Mosk had been the White House bureau chief for the Washington Times and spent ten years prior to that at the Washington Post where he covered money and politics.
"Matt's track record of stories made him the perfect candidate for our investigative team," said Brian Ross, the ABC News chief investigative correspondent.
" I've spent my career trying to produce solid, fair, and meaningful journalism, and I could think of no greater opportunity than to do that with Brian Ross," said Mosk. "I'm thrilled to have this chance to work with him and his team."
Mosk will continue to be based in Washington, D.C. and will report from the nation's capitol for the Blotter, the ABC News investigative on-line page, and for all ABC News broadcasts.
Mosk's most recent stories included an investigation of the perks provided to large donors by the Obama White House.
A graduate of Dartmouth College, Mosk edited the school paper, The Dartmouth, and oversaw the work of then-student cartoonist Jake Tapper, now the ABC News White House correspondent.
After college Mosk worked for the Los Angeles Times and the Bergen Record in New Jersey before joining the Baltimore Sun to cover the Maryland statehouse.
In 1999, he was hired by the Washington Post and broke a number of major stories in Annapolis and later as a reporter for the Post's national desk.
Mosk was hired at the Washington Times in August by his former Washington Post colleague, John Solomon. Solomon resigned as editor of the Washington Times last month.
