— -- Retailers are hoping Americans aren't yet fatigued by holiday shopping and offering deep post-Christmas discounts, particularly on clothing, beauty and technology.
In fact, some post-Christmas sales started pre-Christmas this year. Retailer Amazon debuted its "post-Christmas sale" on Dec. 23 with up to 70 percent off fashion buys.
"Simply put, no item will see as many discounts as apparel," notes DealNews writer Louis Ramirez, adding that last year, 45 percent of after-Christmas sales flagged by DealNews were clothing related.
But before you buy, factor in any shipping or return costs if you buy online. And know that quantities will be limited of certain door-buster items, so call before you visit a brick-and-mortar store.
