— -- LeBron James is already an NBA Champion. But with game 1 of the 2016 NBA finals set for tonight, James begins his quest at accomplishing what has been out of reach thus far in his storied career -- win a championship at home in Cleveland and without his former Miami Heat teammates like Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

Fresh off retirement from his own iconic career, one of the all-time greats Kobe Bryant took a minute to chat with ABC News about what this finals might mean to LeBron and the vastly different styles from both teams and their star players.

When asked what it would mean for James to win this in Cleveland, Bryant said, "It's very important for him, just on a personal note to win a championship" with this team.

The five-time champion and future Hall of Famer sat down to chat about tonight's big game while celebrating his own career as the face of NBA 2K17's Legends Edition. The big-time gaming company threw an inaugural eSports event in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

Bryant addressed the key match-up of James leading his Cavs against Stephen Curry and the defending champion Golden State Warriors.

"I'm interested to see how they adjust to each other cause they are two completely different styles," he said, alluding to James' "physicality" and Curry's smooth shot and "fluidity."

The Warriors just squeaked out a Western Conference finals win in 7 games after setting the regular season record with 73 wins this past year. But that's all in the past tonight at 9 p.m. ET when the ball is tipped in Oakland.

"I'm interested to see in Game 1, what those adjustments will be, then go from there," Bryant added.

This year's finals is a rematch of last year, when Curry led the Warriors over James and the Cavs in six games. Bryant isn't making any predictions.

"I don't do those picks. Those are for TV anchors," he said.

Game 1 kicks off tonight at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
