How Arnold Schwarzenegger Got Back in Shape for 'Terminator'
At 67, he's still kicking butt.
— -- It's been more than 30 years since the first "Terminator" when Arnold Schwarzenegger was in insane shape and years removed from a championship bodybuilding career.
For the latest installment in the series, "Terminator Genisys," Arnold has to face off against a version of his past self, so being in great shape at 67 was a must.
The iconic actor opened up to People magazine about his twice a day regime to yet again be the Terminator.
"I felt that I should gain around 10 pounds to get as close to possible as the body weight that I had in 1984," he told the magazine. "I always stay in pretty good shape, [but] I stepped it up a notch to get to the body weight I needed to be."
Schwarzenegger said he added cardio was key to not only bulking up, but shedding fat.
"I did pretty much six days a week, twice a day ... cardiovascular training in the mornings and weight training in the evening for an hour each," he said.
