'Empire' Stars Trai Byers and Grace Gealey Wed
The two got married over the weekend in the Cayman Islands.
— -- Talk about a plot twist! Two stars of the hit TV series "Empire" -- Trai Byers and Grace Geeley -- are now married.
The two, who portray Andre Lyon and Anika "Boo Boo Kitty" Calhoun, respectively, on the series centered on the Lyon family, announced the news on their social media networks Saturday.
"We're married!" Byers, 32, tweeted. "To all who've extended congrats, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Love, Mr. & Mrs. Byers."
Geeley, 31, shared a similar message on her social networks. She even thanked co-star Gabourey Sidibe, who tweeted to the happy couple, "Congratulations GrayGray!"
The actress announced the two were engaged in October. "I'm engaged," she told Tyra Banks and other panelists during an episode of "FABLife."
Gealey also explained why her relationship with Byers works, even on set.
"I think that if you do get involved ... at your workplace, you have to know that this is something that you want to be invested in and this is not something that is frivolous and fleeting," she said.
"And to have the maturity to know that if this doesn't work out, you're not going to throw staplers at the other person."
