— -- George Clooney spilled a little about his upcoming wedding to Amal Alamuddin while speaking at a black-tie event in Tuscany, Italy, this weekend.

Since getting engaged in April, the nuptials of Clooney, 53, and Alamuddin, 36, are among the most anticipated weddings of the summer.

While accepting an award, the actor said, "I met my lovely bride to be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying, in a couple of weeks, in Venice, of all places," People magazine reports.

There had been rumors and rumblings that the actor's wedding was coming up and would be in Italy. The weekend's event was in support of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center.

During the evening, People added, Clooney kept his attention on his soon-to-be bride. The Oscar-winning actor popped the question earlier this year on April 22 to his fiancée, a British lawyer, with a 7-carat-plus ring, featuring an emerald-cut diamond.

At the time of the engagement, Alamuddin's law office, Doughty Street Chambers, made sure to wish the happy couple well.

"The barristers and staff of Doughty Street Chambers offer their best wishes and congratulations to Ms. Amal Alamuddin, a member of Chambers, and Mr. George Clooney on their engagement to be married," the office said.
