The guys answered questions during a performance on "GMA 40 for 40."
— -- One Direction helped "Good Morning America" celebrate it's 40th anniversary on Tuesday night by performing during the show's 40-hour livestream. But the band also chatted with ABC News’ Lara Spencer and singer Nick Lachey during an exclusive Q & A.
During the chat with Spencer and Lachey, One Direction answered questions form the audience, including their favorite songs they've released.
Liam Payne said it was "History," while Niall Horan said "I don’t think you can beat 'Story.'"
Harry Styles added he thinks the new hit "Drag Me Down" is his favorite and Louis Tomlinson said it's not his favorite, but he loves to perform "She's Not Afraid."
The guys also talked about their plans for an upcoming break to unwind and relax at the end of this year.
Harry said after working for 5 years straight, it would be nice for at least a bit of time to "chill out." Louis added that the "beauty of the break" is not doing much or working.
For Christmas Break, the guys plan to be with family. Harry admitted that he got his Xmas shopping surprisingly done in November, because they were on tour.
The band was grateful for their amazingly loyal fans, especially the ones they see at each and every show.
One adorable 9-year-old Violet said she's actually been a 1D fan for two years. Lara joked that maybe the sweet fan could be an inspiration for one of the band's next songs.
