Nov. 1, 2011— -- Heidi Klum is known for her star-studded Halloween party -- and elaborate costumes -- but this year she had competition.

Fellow Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr hosted her very first Halloween bash, also on Monday night in New York City.

While Klum greeted guests at the new Dream Downtown, Kerr played hostess in a sexy ringmaster costume, complete with whip, at Catch Roof, according to the New York Post.

Klum may have the edge on Kerr. Not only has she been hosting her Halloween fete for 12 years, she threw an earlier bash at Tao in Las Vegas Saturday, wearing a creepy anatomical inside-out skinless bodysuit.

"In our house it's Halloween all year 'round," Klum told People magazine at her soiree. "It's not as scary but [my kids] love dressing up. Look at their mom. She's always dressing up."

For her New York party, she likely wore the second costume she was recently photographed in -- a hairy fitted bodysuit, topped by a white skullcap with ears and fake teeth that could only be described as crazed monkey.

Klum planned to serve an array of HobNob wines and various candies.

While the New York Post made a big deal of the Halloween faceoff, Klum and Australian model Kerr are actually good friends and running buddies.

They also weren't the only celebrities catering parties to the stars. From Kate Hudson's annual Halloween shindig to Matthew Morrison's "Glee"-studded event, the stars had fun this year dressing like other stars.

At his second annual Halloween bash at Voyeur in West Hollywood Saturday, Morrison celebrated Halloween and his 33rd birthday dressed as Roger Rabbit.

Joining in the celebration was co-star Lea Michele, who made an appearance as Natalie Portman's character Nina in "Black Swan."

Michele posted a picture of herself in the Swan Queen's white tutu and proclaimed the night a success. "What a fun party last night!" she tweeted. "Got to see my cast all dress up as Rugrats! It was awesome! Everyone's costumes were amazing!"

Also present: "The Hills" star Lauren Conrad, who channeled Britney Spears as a sexy schoolgirl from her first video, "Baby One More Time."

In nearby Pacific Palisades, Kate Hudson hosted her annual Halloween fete at her estate, bringing young Hollywood out in hordes.

Nicole Richie came as a dressed-down J Lo, Ali Larter was a beautiful bumble bee and Zooey Deschanel channeled 1960s fashion.

Jennifer Love Hewitt and her boyfriend, Jarod Einsohn, came as Brangelina, with Hewitt sporting a fake baby bump.

Gwen Stefani (as Cinderella), Jessica Alba (as a witch), Emma Roberts (as a Playboy bunny) and Rashida Jones (as a Cherry Blow-Pop) were also among the guests.

David Arquette in Elvis garb arrived with fellow "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Chaz Bono, who was recently voted off the show.

Bono went as himself, in a grey sweatshirt, jeans and brown shoes.
