'House of Cards' to Return on Netflix With Season 4 in 2016

— -- Netflix's hit original series "House of Cards" will return with a new season next year, the company announced today.

Season four is set to begin production this summer, Netflix said, as the series shapes up to show Kevin Spacey's Frank Underwood go through his first national election.

Spacey received a Golden Globe and a SAG Award this year for his portrayal of the Machiavellian president. He returns alongside co-star Robin Wright, who plays Underwood's wife, Claire.

A release date for season four wasn't announced. Season 3 of "House of Cards" is currently available on Netflix.
