Janet Jackson Denies Cancer Rumors, Says 'I'm Recovering'
The singer, who postponed her tour last month, said she's simply "recovering."
— -- Janet Jackson is rebutting rumors that she is battling cancer.
The singer -- who postponed her “Unbreakable” tour late last month, saying she needed surgery -- tweeted a clip of her song "The Great Forever" Wednesday. The clip ends with a written statement in which she addresses recent rumors that she has throat cancer.
Jackson said, "Remember...believe it when you hear it from my lips. The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I'm recovering. My doctors have approved my concerts as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled. Thank you for your prayers and love."
She did not go into detail.
In announcing her tour postponement Facebook on Dec. 24, Jackson wrote, "I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon....Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time."
She's due to launch her European tour in late-March.
