Jared Leto is Taking His Mom to the Oscars

Feb. 25, 2014 — -- Matt Damon and Ben Affleck made it cool to take your mom to the Oscars during the 1990's and now Jared Leto is following in their footsteps this year.
The actor, nominated for Best Supporting Actor in "Dallas Buyers Club," recently told his mom via Facetime and her reaction to the news she would be sharing in her son's big night was priceless.
"My mothers face when @shannonleto and I told her she was coming to the #Oscars with us! :)," Leto posted yesterday via Instagram.

Constance Leto, the actor and rocker's mother, is wearing glasses and has a huge smile on her face.
Leto, 42, is part of a film that received six Oscar nominations, including one for best picture and best actor for his co-star Matthew McConaughey.

"It was the role of a lifetime," he told ABC News after being nominated in January. "It was an incredible thing to represent this group of people who largely are ignored."
In the movie, Leto played an HIV-positive transgender prostitute.
