Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer Are Collaborating on a Screenplay
"We play sisters," Lawrence said. "We're almost done writing."
— -- Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer are now friends and colleagues.
The two are collaborating on a comedic screenplay in which they'll play sisters, the "Hunger Games" star told the New York Times. They have 100 pages written so far.
"We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up," she said. "I’m flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago. We’ll write a little bit with her sister, Kim, who worked with Amy when she was writing ‘Trainwreck.’”
Lawrence, 25, explained that she first reached out via email to Schumer, 34, after seeing her film, "Trainwreck" a few months ago. ("[I] said, 'I don’t know where to get started. I guess I should just say it: I’m in love with you,'" she recalled.) They began a correspondence, and then found themselves texting each other. Soon after, Schumer invited Lawrence to go on vacation with her and her friends.
"We really hit it off, to say the least,” she said. "[Writing this film has] been the most fun experience of my life."
