Jimmy Kimmel and His Wife Are Expecting Their 2nd Child
This comes on the heels of the news he's hosting the Oscars.
— -- Jimmy Kimmel has a busy 2017 ahead of him.
On Monday, the "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" host announced that in addition to hosting the Academy Awards next year, he'll also be a daddy again.
"Yes, I am hosting the Oscars. This is not a prank. And if it is, my revenge on @TheAcademy will be terrible & sweet. Thx to @alsformalwear," Kimmel tweeted on Monday.
This will be Kimmel's first time hosting the Oscars.
Then, during Monday's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" he revealed that he and his wife Molly McNearney -- his co-head writer on the show -- are expecting their second child.
"My wife is hosting a baby inside her body, so that's exciting," Kimmel explained. "We got the ultrasound, which is weird because you're already spying on the baby—but we asked the technician not to tell us whether we're having a boy or a girl."
"Our plan is to let the child decide for itself," he continued. "We want that to be a surprise, but I have been trying to think of names that would work for a boy or girl. So far, all I've come up with is...Dyson, after the vacuum, or Jelatin with a 'J.' No? That's exactly what my wife said ... so, there's a lot of exciting stuff going on. Congratulations to me. I'm hosting the Oscars and I had sex. Two things as a teenage boy I never thought would be possible," Kimmel joked.
The new baby's due date has not been revealed.
The couple have a 2-year-old daughter, Jane. Kimmel also has a son, Kevin, and daughter, Katherine, from a previous marriage.
The 89th Academy Awards will take place Sunday, Feb. 26, in Hollywood and will air live on ABC. Nominations will be announced Tuesday, Jan. 24.
