— -- Pop star Justin Bieber has been hanging out with members of the New England Patriots, causing concern among some fans who believe the team’s association with the troubled star could be disastrous.

On Tuesday, photos were posted to Twitter showing Bieber with members of the Patriots, including star Rob Gronkowski. They were hanging out in the locker room of the Los Angeles Clippers following a game on Monday, and the response on Twitter was swift.

Those concerned could be looking back at Bieber’s associations with, or support of certain teams, in the past, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Heat and the Spanish national soccer team, that appear to have coincided with those teams’ stunning defeats.

In October, Bieber cheered on the New York Knicks on their opening night and the team lost 140 to 80.

In November, Bieber attended a Bible study with members of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the next day the team lost to the New York Jets, a team that had not won a game in two months.

The Patriots next play the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. Despite some fans' concerns about Bieber's influence on the team, some replied with heavy skepticism.

And yet others seemed to applaud Bieber’s perceived effect.
