— -- Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting recently connected with a terminally ill 13-year-old after she found out the cancer patient was a huge "Big Bang Theory" fan.

After Cuoco's friend and fashion designer Nikki Lund spotted an Instagram post that read "Nicole's favorite thing in the world is Big Bang Theory," the actress was compelled to reach out to her fan. Nicole "is in the final stages of her life due to cancer," the post continued.

So, Cuoco, 29, sent a video to Nicole, one that was posted online yesterday.

"Hi Nicole, my name is Kaley, I heard you love 'The Big Bang Theory,' so I wanted to say hi," she says.

Cuoco also spoke to US Weekly and said, "When I heard Nicole's story and how much she loved 'Big Bang Theory,' I just had to connect with her in some way. Through her amazing family, and help from people like Nikki and others, we were able to FaceTime and send little videos straight to Nicole — her two thumbs up was a sure sign that, at least for a moment, she was happy."

She continued: "She is lucky to have such an amazing family and I felt honored to share in such a wonderful moment."

Lund also spoke with the magazine and added that Cuoco is trying to also get her co-stars to send Nicole well wishes and videos.

"When I contacted Kaley about this, she immediately said ‘Of course, whatever I can do to help, I'll do anything,’” Lund said.
