Why Kelly Clarkson Thought Her Career Was 'Over'
"I literally had a moment where I cried and drank wine all day," she admitted.
— -- Most Kelly Clarkson fans know she had a difficult pregnancy and was sick all the time.
But Clarkson has now revealed another side effect of her pregnancy: She temporarily lost her voice and it convinced her that her career was over.
Clarkson, 32, recorded her new album, “Piece by Piece,” due March 3, while she was pregnant. But speaking to ET Canada, she says she panicked when, after giving birth to daughter River Rose in June, she thought she'd lost her voice for good.
"Afterwards was the part where I literally had a moment where I cried and drank wine all day," she said. "I was like, 'Oh, God, I'm not going to be a singer anymore!'
"I was bawling to my husband and completely hammered, just going, 'Oh, my God, it's over. I don't know what I'm going to do. I guess I could do more charity work,'" she continued. "I didn't know what I was going to do."
Clarkson's voice returned, however, so she didn't have to make that decision.
