— -- Lindsay Lohan is becoming an expat.

The actress, who will appear in "Speed-the-Plow" in London later this year, said she is planning to move there full-time.

"You guys have such a different outlook [about entertainment]," Lohan told the BBC. "It feels really good to turn on the TV and not see everything be about gossip."

Lohan, 28, said that the timing of her West End debut is perfect, because she's ready to "experience something different." That also means she's committed to not missing any shows and to once and for all prove to the public that she's serious about her craft, she added.

"People have certain perceptions of me and for a long time people looked at me as kind of a celebrity which is something -- that's not [why] I ever got into this industry," she said. Now, "people can focus on the fact that I'm in this industry because I'm an actress and an artist and not just someone you take photos of."

The actress also admitted to making mistakes in the past. However, she's "so numb" to the gossip that tabloids spread about her and is focused on the future.

"There are certain things that yes, I would change that I've put myself in bad situations but I don't regret anything that's happened," she said. "I wouldn't be who I am today. I wouldn't have learned the things that I know. I wouldn't be here doing this right now."
