— -- In March, Nick Jonas revealed that he would not be a part of Iggy Azalea's rescheduled Great Escape tour.

Now that she's announced that the tour has been canceled, Jonas said he's hopeful that she'll hit the road some time soon.

"Initially, when I was supposed to do the tour with her, it changed to later in the year and I was disappointed," he told ABC News. "But I made my own plans and I'm very excited about my own run. I hope at some point for her, she's able to go out and do [a tour]. I'm sure she will."

Jonas, 22, will embark on his own tour later this year, but not before performing with Pitbull and Keith Urban in New York City this July for a concert sponsored by the rewards system, Plenti. (Fans can enter a chance to win tickets through June 27 at plentitogether.com.)

"I think the common thread is all our pop side of things," he said. "It's a great lineup that does sort of touches on all different genres. This is not the first time I've shared the stage with these [performers] but I'm excited."

He's looking forward to his own tour too. Kicking off this September with BeBe Rexha, Jonas promised that his fans won't be disappointed.

"They're my peers and my age," he said. "[My fans have] grown a lot and getting to see who they are and what they're into is a big priority for me."

It will mean more time away from his girlfriend, Olivia Culpo, however. Jonas, who is also appearing in the TV series, "Kingdom," in said that with the time changes, it can be difficult to stay in contact.

"We try to talk when we wake up and go to bed," he said. "We do our best."
