When Netflix first announced Pee-wee Herman's new film, "Pee-wee's Big Holiday," the plot was explained in a very mysterious way.

The streaming company said last year that Pee-wee Herman, Paul Reubens' iconic character, would go on his first-ever vacation after he meets "a mysterious stranger."

Ruebens announced on his website last April that the stranger is none other than Joe Manganiello. And now we know more about his role in the Judd Apatow-produced film.

(Warning: Spoilers ahead!)

Manganiello, who plays himself in the comedy, is super important in the film.

The actor rolls into Pee-wee's hometown of Fairville and stops at Dan's Diner, where Pee-wee works. After the two bond over their love of candy, Manganiello asks for a tour of the small West Coast town.

But it's one request of Manganiello's that has Pee-wee stumped. Manganiello wants Pee-wee to attend his birthday party all the way in New York City, which of course makes the quirky man-child terrified.

Manganiello tells Pee-wee to "live a little," and with that, Pee-wee is off on a cross-country trek to celebrate his new friend.
