"We feel truly blessed to be joined as husband and wife," the couple told People. "Our special day was fated and everything we could have ever asked for."

Surprise! Naya Rivera Is Married

Fans were shocked, especially because Rivera, 27, only split from her ex-fiancé, rapper Big Sean, two months ago. But here are a few clues that her romance with Dorsey was heading for marriage.

quicklist: 1title: They'd Been Friends for Yearstext: Dorsey and Rivera met four years ago and have been close friends ever since, according to People. After her split from Big Sean in April, their platonic relationship took a turn for the romantic.

quicklist: 2title: They Have Common Intereststext: It's obvious that both have an interest in acting, but there's more: Rivera and Dorsey are both animal lovers (and dog owners) who have inherent interests in sports, fitness and nutrition.

quicklist: 3title: They're Both Family-Orientedtext: Dorsey moved to Los Angeles "with encouragement from his mother, support from his father, and cheers from his stepbrother and step-parents,” according to his website. Rivera, who has said that she wants children one day, is also family-oriented, and is close with her model sister and football-player brother.

quicklist: 4title: She Was Ready to Settle Downtext: Not only had Rivera been engaged in the past, but earlier this year she said she was in a nesting phase. "Latinas are really great nurturers who are great to our men; we love hard and we love to cook," she told Cosmopolitan for Latinas. "The other morning I woke up and was like, 'I need china – this table needs to be set all the time!' Focusing on those things is where I'm at right now." Maybe she just needed to meet the right guy?

quicklist: 5title: She Moves Quicklytext: Rivera and Big Sean made their first red carpet appearance together last year in April. By October, they were engaged. This time, she just skipped the public engagement!
