Matchbox Twenty Teams With Train for Summer Tour

Matchbox Twenty recently wrapped an extensive North American arena tour — but now the band is giving fans a chance to hear its hits outside, with an lengthy tour of amphitheaters kicking off July 31 in Fargo, N.D.

Backing Rob Thomas and his popular rock act will be Train, which recently released its sophomore LP, Drops of Jupiter.

Through August the tour will move from the Midwest to the East Coast, before crossing to the West Coast in September, hitting a total of 30 cities.

The songs from Mad Season by Matchbox Twenty — released last May — are still getting radio airplay, and the LP is hanging in at No. 77 on the Billboard 200. The group recently taped an episode of Storytellers, which will air on cable station VH1 on June 1.

The first single from Train's album — "Drops of Jupiter (Don't Tell Me)" — is at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100.
