Music Notes: Van Halen Reunion

April 20 -- If only the members of Van Halen could just get along …

David Lee Roth says he and Eddie Van Halen managed to record three hot numbers last year at Van Halen's private studio. Despite their notoriously stormy relationship, when it comes to cranking out driving, '80s-style rock, they've still got it.

"About a year ago, myself and the great Van Halen band played together once or twice and it sounded amazing, phenomenal … The hands fell off the clock, ladies and gentleman, and we wrote three astonishing tunes," Roth said on his Web site.

So when will they complete an album? Don't hold your breath.

"[We got together] last July and since then I haven't been up to the studio, we haven't really been in touch and we haven't made any music," said Roth. "But I am holding forth. I'm in the shape of my life and I got the high note. I'm ready to go."

Hollywood Moms

Madonna's daughter Lourdes could be the next media darling in her famous family. The two are photographed in the new book, Hollywood Moms, which benefits breast cancer research.

Author Joyce Ostin says the 4-year-old Lourdes was very comfortable in front of the camera.

Goldie Hawn and her actress-daughter Kate Hudson are on the cover of the book, which also includes pictures of Faith Hill, Jennifer Lopez, Susan Sarandon and Rosie O'Donnell. The women are pictured either with their daughters or their own moms.

Martin Denies Zorro Casting

Hopes of a sword-wielding Ricky Martin on the London stage have been dashed.

British tabloids had reported the singer would star as the masked hero Zorro in a new musical.

"[He's] not planning on taking over the lead in the show and has had no discussions with its producers," said a rep for his record company.

Martin has had some stage experience. He previously appeared in Les Miserables.
