Winona Ryder Gets Star on Walk of Fame
Oct. 9 -- Fourteen years after Winona Ryder appeared in her first major film role, she has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The actress accepted her star in Los Angeles on Friday as a light rain fell on a crowd of 500 fans, including Oscar-winning actor Anthony Hopkins. Ryder, 28, seemed taken aback by the award. “When I heard about this, I thought it was a joke,” she told reporters. “This is so huge to me … [it] gives me a chance to say you can walk all over me.”
According to The Associated Press, Ryder was the 2,165th celeb to receive a star on the famed sidewalk, which covers Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.
The actress last appeared in the 1999 drama Girl, Interrupted and this year’s weepy Autumn in New York. She will next be seen in the demonic possession flick Lost Souls, which opens Oct. 13.
