'High School Musical' Star Apologizes to Fans

After a nude photograph of "High School Musical's" teen star Vanessa Hudgens was leaked on the Internet, the 18-year-old actress issued an apology to her fans.

"I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me," said Hudgens. "I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends."

The photo shows the teen standing naked in a bedroom.

Hudgens, who plays a wholesome science and math genius, according to the series' Web site, is also rumored to be dating one of her co-stars, Zac Efron, in real life.

Early this week, another statement was issued by Hudgens' spokeswoman.

"This was a photo which was taken privately," said Hudgens' spokeswoman. "It is a personal matter and it is unfortunate that it has become public."
