May 21, 2011 — -- Lucy Schwartz provides the soundtrack to this week's Y3W, with the song "My Darling" off her new album "Life in Letters."

If you don't know the name, you may know some of the 20-year-old singer-songwriter's work. Lucy wrote and performed the theme to "Shrek Forever After" and performed it on late-night television with co-writer Landon Pigg. She's also written songs for several movies and has had her music featured in more than a dozen television shows, including ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and "Brothers and Sisters."

"Life in Letters" is her second full-length album. Her first, titled "Winter in June," was released when she was just 16 years old.

Lucy recorded "Life in Letters" with producer Mitchell Froom, who has also worked with Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello and Suzanne Vega. She says there was a lot of experimentation in creating the album, which was recorded at Froom's home studio in Los Angeles.
