N E W   Y O R K, Sept. 4 -- Unlike women, most men are not beauty product connoisseurs. But they still have their share of cosmetic woes to deal with, including razor bumps, dry skin and bad hair days.

Since most men don't know alpha hydroxy from exfoliation, Good Morning America's correspondent Lara Spencer set out to help grooming-challenged guys figure out which products really work.

Spencer weeded through the rows of beauty products for men and consulted with professional stylists. Here are the top picks she came up with:

Eve After-shave Cream: made with shea butter and cucumber. It combines the moisturizing effects of shea butter with the clean scent of cucumber. Available at department stores.

Anthony Logistics Facial Scrub: It's a little-known brand that has been on the market for about a year. It exfoliates dry dead skin cells, essentially sloughing them away. Retails for $18 (www.anthony.com).

Peter Thomas Roth Oxygen Mist: This spray-on product soothes razor and skin irritation. Retails for $35 (www.peterthomasroth.com).

DDF Moisturizing Dew: an ultra-light moisturizing dew that men like because they tend to have oilier skin than women, and the moisturizer is light. Retails for $26.25 (www.ddfskin.com).

Edge Shaving Cream: a shaving cream that gives a smooth shave. It is available at most drug stores.

Aqua Net hairspray: For men who don't want a hair out of place, this is an old standby. Also available at drug stores.
