May 26, 2005 -- -- During a week when Marcie and John Warrington were supposed to be attending their son's high school graduation, they are now planning his funeral and arranging the defense of his accused killer, their younger son, Andrew.

On Tuesday, Andrew Warrington, 16, told a construction worker near his house in the upscale Cincinnati neighborhood of Hyde Park that his brother, Johnny, 17, had been beaten to death with a baseball bat.

The construction worker called 911, and Andrew led police to the house where they found his brother's body. Police arrested Andrew and charged him with the killing.

Marcie Warrington was visibly shaking and her husband, John, held her hand as Andrew appeared in front of a juvenile court judge on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after Johnny's death.

"They fully support and have tremendous love for Andrew in this situation, in this unbearable tragedy," said family friend and attorney Tom Heekin Jr. "I don't think most of us ever face anything like this in our entire lives."

Witnesses said they saw Andrew washing blood from his hands blocks from his home just prior to the 911 call.

He is being held without bond, and a hearing is scheduled for June 2 to determine whether he will be tried as a juvenile or an adult. Until then, he is under a suicide watch.
