Serena Williams' Makeup Debut
Feb. 8, 2005 — -- Serena Williams has won seven Grand Slam tennis singles championships, and she's looked good doing it, too. So what's next for the star athlete who already has her own clothing line?
Makeup, of course.
"I think I need a little rest," Williams said. "I've been working really hard, so I've been having some fun with makeup."
She has teamed up with Flirt!, a division of Estee Lauder that's sold at Kohl's. Her first product, called Exotic Jewels, is a pendant filled with lip gloss that retails for $12.50.
"It's really moisturing. It's really awesome," Williams said of the lip gloss.
Williams also dabbled in acting recently, with a guest role on "ER."
"I love acting," she said. "I've always liked it."
But Williams isn't giving up tennis for a career in beauty or acting anytime soon. Later this month, she'll play in Paris at the Open Gaz de France tournament and in Dubai [United Arab Emirates] at the Dubai Duty Free Women's Open, which she says is one of her favorite places to travel to because it's the only place with seven-star hotels.
"I don't know how I keep it all together," Williams said. "I always try to have as much fun as I can, and if I'm not having fun I try to move on."
