We move on to a ski lift malfunction in central Pennsylvania that trapped several people in midair. Reporter: Good morning, Dan and Paula. Saturday was the first day of the ski season at tussy mountain in Pennsylvania. Fresh snow. Relatively sunny skies. At 10:00 A.M., the excitement turned to pan irk as the chair lift malfunctioned leaving more than a dozen skiers pinned in midair. A dramatic scene as scores a and snow boarders dangerled from a chair lift if central Pennsylvania. Approximately three-fourths up the mountain, there is approximately 0 people pinned. All this stuff fell off. People don't have their ski boots. Reporter: At least five people hurt. Rescuers lowering them one by one to safety. During the almost two-hour. Ordeal, staff evacuating all passengers from the lift. The resort saying, we take the safety of our guests very seriously. And are saddened to learn there were nonlife threatening injuries as the result of this accident. In the last two years, two boys at two different resorts in dangerous situations the. What I saw happen was a very scary but yet humbling event at Tussey mountain today. Reporter: Thankfully, none of the injuries were life threatening. The resort stays lift was tested an given a passing grade. They're investigating what wept wrong and taking steps to make sure it doesn't happen again. It is very rare. It is very rare.
