Transcript for Jessica Alba on 'Sin City' Character: 'She Becomes a Warrior'
Come on now. "Sin city" fans you know you've been waiting nearly a decade. The wait finally over. "Sin city: A dame to kill for" opens next Friday and we are excited to have back with us Jessica alba and it's so good to see you again and I remember sitting down with you. I've seen you since but sitting down with you for the first movie. Your character you're bad. You went from this sweet little innocent one in the first film to -- Yeah. She becomes a warrior. Yeah. Do you like that? It was fun. It was fun to actually see and play someone who goes from being this like victim and she, you know, goes into a dark place in the beginning of this movie but then she comes out very strong. Yeah, this movie is, you know, I don't think women would expect that there's so many powerful, pretty like, you know, butt-kicking women in this movie. And your love interest is back, so to speak in a different kind of way. Bruce Willis and want to play a clip right now. Here it is. ? I'll prove both of you wrong. Maybe I'll go crazy. Crazy sounding pretty good right now. I love you, Nancy. You know, I start swaying, I get into it. I mean it's just from a moviegoer's standpoint beautifully done. Yeah, it's very artistic. It's all in black and white and in the theater it's in 3D and not everything is in 3D just special certain things are in 3D so you feel like you're in this insane world and it's beautiful. Your character Nancy Callahan is an exotic dancer. Had you a choreographer this time. I did. You didn't in the first time. I'm not that comfortable. I'm not a dancer and I'm not that comfortable on a stage so I wanted to work with someone to help me fake it. You also as your character Jessica you're so comfortable. You're just -- it's beautiful to see Y transformation. Do you feel that way too. I do. I feelike all the things that I've gone through in my life since the first one having kids, starting a company, the company being successful, I'm married. I have friends now. I was working so much I didn't really even have real friendships the way that I do now and I just have so much that's so important to me that I love and it allows me when I'm working, when I'm acting to really be free and take risks and go to that next level. It comes across that way too and Mickey Rourke. Mickey Rourke. He gave you high praise. I was nervous. Were you? I was because he's a real actor in the best sense of the word and he comes from the actor's studio in New York and he studied and he takes his craft very seriously and so I was -- I just didn't want him to be upset with me or disappointed and he wasn't. It was pretty cool. No one is going to be disappointed. Always a delight to spend time with you. Thank you. Thank you, all the best. I'm so glad you liked the movie. I do. Frank miller's "Sin city: A dame to kill for" opens nationwide on August 22nd ? we're going to let it burn ?
