We turn now to former "Friends" star Lisa kudrow in court battling her former manager. He claims he's owed money from her time on the show. She is expected to take the stand just hours from now and ABC's Cecilia Vega has our story. ♪ Smelly cat ♪ Reporter: We know her as the crazy cat loving phoebe. She's now a defendant in a los Angeles courtroom. She is expected to take the Stan today in this bitter fight against her former manager, Scott Howard claims the Emmy winning sitcom star owes him $1.7 million. Did amazing work together. Reporter: He made his case to a jury Wednesday during the first day of this civil trial. They started working together before kudrow hit it big on "Friends." Oh, my god. Reporter: According to court documents Howard filed, they had an oral agreement. Howard managed kudrow in exchange for a 10% cut of her earnings and those earnings laid out in court for the world to see. In the beginning kudrow was the lowest paid actress on "Friends" earning a little more than $13,000 an episode. But in the final seasons kudrow's salary hit more than 1 million per episode. Howard's lawyers say that from "Friends" and other projects over 13 years, kudrow raked in more than $120 million. She's funny, she's very good in drama and I just -- I always believed in her talent and abilities. Reporter: After 16 years together, kudrow and Howard parted ways and then he claims she stopped paying him. He says she owes him a percentage of what she earns on reruns. One of the questions that's up for debate is whether, you know, an oral agreement which is what Lisa and this ex-manager this is founded. Reporter: Kudrow's lawyers say they will not speak publicly until they make their case to the jury. According to court documents kudrow claims she has no obligation to pay Howard a commission for anything she earned after these one-time friends -- ♪ I don't need your charity." Thank you.
