Jan. 13, 2010 -- My name is Roberta Lee and I'm at the Continuum Center for Healthand Healing at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. We are a self-standing clinic with over 20 practitioners and one of our biggest research projects right now is with seven other institutions known as the Bravewell Collaborative. We are actually looking at patients who come to an integrative center and examining what doctors and other healthcare practitioners do to make pain go away.

What we hope to do is be able to find the best practices that these eight different centers have found that effectively reduce pain. This is an ongoing study that will be going on for the next year and one of the benefits of this research is that we will be able to start the process of looking at cost effectiveness in an integrative practice for something very common known as pain.
