Question: What are the symptoms of agoraphobia?

Answer: Agoraphobia is characterized by avoidance of situations in which escape might be difficult or embarrassing, and excessive anxiety. Very often people with agoraphobia will avoid driving, or avoid driving on the highways. They may avoid stores, such as grocery stores, or the malls. They may feel very uncomfortable sitting in the middle of a row at a movie or a concert or a sporting event.
