If I Have Glaucoma, Should I Have My Children Tested For Glaucoma Too?

Question: If I have glaucoma, should I have my children tested for glaucoma too?

Answer: Often I'm asked whether or not children should be tested for glaucoma, or if somebody is identified as having glaucoma, should their sisters and brothers do so as well? And because there is a risk factor of family history, it is very important that you identify other people in your family that should go in and have them evaluated by an eye doctor, and then that eye doctor can let you know how often they need to be seen.
