Menstrual Disorders

This is a clinical research study to evaluate ways to control heavy menstrual bleeding.

Women 19 or older who have this condition may qualify.

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)

If you regularly experience depression, irritability, angry outbursts, or changes in sleep or appetite before your period every month, you may be dealing with severe PMS.

Women between the ages of 18 and 49 experiencing severe PMS symptoms prior to menstruation may be eligible to participate in a clinical research study testing an investigational treatment to alleviate these symptoms.

Retinitis Pigmentosa

The purpose of this study is to look at the safety and effectiveness of CNTF implants on vision in persons with retinitis pigmentosa, Usher type 2 and 3, and choroideremia.

This research is being conducted because there are no effective therapies for people with these retinal degenerations that affect the retina, a light sensitive layer of cells in the back of the eye.

Criteria for patients to qualify for the study include being over 18 years of age, and less than 65 years of age, having a diagnosis of retinitis pigmentosa, Usher Syndrome Type 2 or 3 or Choroideremia and having a visual acuity no better than 20/80 and no worse than 20/320. Other criteria also apply.

The research site is located in Minneapolis, Minn.
