Question: What are the key things to know about screening for eye problems in men?
Answer: Eye problems increase as we age. Most common causes include dry eyes which, although it affects women more than men, is fairly common in men. This presents as irritation or a sensation that you have grit in your eye or sand in your eye. This is a common problem and if not repaired can lead to persistent eye damage.
You can also have problems such as glaucoma which is fairly common in men. Also eye diseases related to hypertension and diabetes which are more common in men -- so that men need to have their eyes checked on a regular basis, and get their pressures checked on a regular basis to prevent blindness secondary to eye damage.
