Question: We hear a lot about mindfulness. What is this and how does it help with weight loss?
Answer: Mindfulness involves becoming more self aware. It comes under many different labels, but I think the core to this is to understand that you need to be in touch with your body and how it influences your overall life, and particularly, your eating habits. Some of the common practices include meditation or yoga or other mind-body type activities, but I think it's really about increasing your awareness of how your world affects you.
Your emotions play into this and how they might influence your eating and health habits. Your sense of well- being your personal relationships. So it's really looking at yourself as a whole person and understanding how the world you live in affects that person.
