Kate Middleton's Parents Finally Meet the Queen
April 20, 2011— -- With only nine days until the royal wedding, Kate Middleton's parents have finally met their daughter's soon to be in-laws. Palace officials confirm Queen Elizabeth invited Carole and Michael Middleton to a private lunch at Windsor Castle on Wednesday.
The invitation to the lunch, which was also attended by a few members of the queen's royal household, was extended some time ago, but the palace declined to provide further details.
It is believed that this was the first time Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip have met Kate Middleton's parents. Earlier this year, a palace spokesman told London's Sunday Times that the queen had never met the Middletons because she "has not felt the need."
With the wedding day quickly approaching, it seems the need has finally been felt.
