Qatar Airways Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Istanbul

The plane was on route to Doha but had to return to Istanbul.

— -- A Qatar Airways plane made an emergency landing in Istanbul today, the airline said.

Flight QR240 traveling from Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport to the international airport in Doha, Qatar, had to return to the Turkish city. All passengers disembarked safely, a Qatar Airways spokesman said.

Turkish media reported that the jet’s motor had caught fire. Qatar Airways declined to comment on the reports.
