Meet the Woman Whose Angry Splash Mountain Photo Became a Meme
The hilarious photo has more than 2 million views.
— -- We finally have an explanation for the hilarious picture everyone’s talking about online.
Take a look at this woman’s expression as she rode Splash Mountain at Disney World. It turns out she was angry because her husband wouldn’t go on the ride with her.
The woman has been identified as Jordan Alexander from Syracuse, New York, but as far as social media is concerned, she’s known as the "Angry Splash Mountain Lady."
"We were in the park the whole day. We had the baby, we had my in-laws," her husband, Steven, who was supposed to be riding with her, told ABC affiliate WHAM. "It was hot and I was getting tired, but she really wanted to go on Splash Mountain and I had promised her earlier that I would go on it with her. At the time I was just beat and I said, ‘I don't think I'm going to go on Splash Mountain.’ She said, 'Fine, then I'm going to go on by myself!"
And that she did, the whole time planning on taking the perfect snarky photo to spite him.
"She marched up to me and held out the picture and she said, ‘Here, I did this for you!'" Steven told WHAM. "I took one look at the picture and we just died laughing. Later on she said, ‘You should really post this on the Internet. It will probably go viral.'"
Needless to say, she was right. The photo now has more than 2 million views on Reddit after Steven posted it to the social sharing site.
The Internet is having lots of fun with it too. Jordan was photoshopped onto the Mona Lisa and with John Travolta.
"The Mona Lisa one cracked us up the first time we saw it. We just died laughing,” said Steven.
It’s safe to say Steven will be riding along with his wife next time.
