Papa John's Debuts a Fritos Chili Pizza
Pizza topped with chili, cheese and Fritos corn chips.
— -- It’s chili season people, and Papa John’s wants you to know it. The national pizza chain just introduced a Chili Pizza, topped with Fritos.
Only available through Nov. 23, the pie features crust topped with ground beef, chili sauce, Roma tomatoes, onions, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. And, of course, we can’t forget the Fritos corn chips.
The Fritos pie traces back to the 1930s when Fritos were originally created, and is simply Fritos topped with chili and cheese, according to Papa John’s. The chain is essentially just taking that and putting it on the crust.
“Papa is amazed it took 30 years to put it all on a pizza,” company chief marketing officer Bob Kraut said in a news release. “We finally did, and we’re excited that the pizza will be available for our busiest day of the year, Halloween.”
People have already begun sampling the concoction, comparing it to tacos.
