— -- Quasi Modo, the world’s ugliest dog, made a special appearance on “Good Morning America” today, “pawping” in to show off her award-winning natural-born ugliness.

The pit bull-Dutch shepherd mix bagged the trophy at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma, California, on June 26, gaining international fame and a flight to New York City for her fierce unattractiveness.

She was born with missing vertebrae which has left her with a bit of a hunchback. Some onlookers even confuse her for a hyena when seen from the side.

“Facially she’s quite beautiful,” ABC News’ Nick Watt, a judge in the contest, explained. “The side view is obviously kind of ridiculous. She’s half a dog. She was born without vertebrae and the few she has are kind of fused together. She’s got these beautiful long legs that don’t fit this little half body.”

World's Ugliest Dog Turns Heads

Quasi Modo was at a shelter in Florida before being rescued by her parents who saw the beauty in her ugliness.

“The other dogs in the contest were these little ones with British teeth and bad hair,” Watt quipped of her fellow competitors. “Quasi just stood out. This dog is going to turn heads.”

And indeed she does, getting mobbed by fans as she travels through airports across the country.

Quasi Modo won first place in the World’s Ugliest Dog contest out of 26 other contestants.
