The academy unveiled their oscar picks today and some surprises have hollywood humming. Judi dench carried "philomena" into a best picture nomination. AND leonardo DiCaprio scored a best actor nomination. Jonah hill bagging his second nomination for best supporting actor. And "american hustle" earned nominations in all four acting categories. Neither oscar darlings emma thompson nor tom hanks earned academy aclam this time around for "saving mr. Banks." Ewe can't imagine how excited I am to finally miss you. But hanks missed twice with the title role of best picture nominee "captain phillips." But those weren't the only snubs. Joaquin phoenix gave a powerful performance in "her." But not enough for a nom. And historical fiction drama "the butler" seemed like classic oscar bait. But forest whitaker and oprah winfrey both left out in the cold.
