Romney pulls all political ads in Colorado after shooting

BOW, N.H.—Mitt Romney is pulling all of his political ads in Colorado "until further notice," according to his campaign, as the candidate prepares to make his first public remarks on Friday's tragic shooting.

The presumptive Republican nominee, who is scheduled to speak at just after 12pm ET, is scrapping his usual stump speech and will use his Friday event to talk about the Colorado tragedy and larger themes of "family and country," according to an aide.

Ahead of Romney's arrival, campaign staffers had removed all of the usual political signage at the event. The candidate is set to speak against the backdrop of an American flag.

The candidate issued a statement early Friday on the shooting, saying that he and his wife, Ann, were "deeply saddened" by the tragedy, calling it an "act of senseless violence."
