It's not always enough to know what's "trending." It kind of helps to know why. Welcome to The Social Climber, where we provide a quick primer on the people, places and things that are being feverishly searched and shared online -- and try to make sense of it all.

Can a show about a biker gang really end with a freeze-frame on its smiling cast? No, no, no, "Sons of Anarchy" creator Kurt Sutter says in an interview with Zap2it. But there might be light at the end of the tunnel, he says, as the show enters its sixth season.
"Will it be a happy ending? No, but I do think that there will be something hopeful about the way it ends," he said.
The Social Climber is psyched. 'Sons' is back tonight on FX.

Yee Haw! Country music legend George Strait has announced the final dates of what he says will be his farewell The Cowboy Rides Away Tour, and it's a doozey. Starting at the beginning of next year and heading well into spring, the "King of Country" will wind across the United States with 26 rootin' tootin' dates.
"It's going to be one hell of an ending," Straight said at a news conference Monday.

Jim Carrey Tweets 'Dumb and Dumber Too' Shot
Lloyd Christmas returns, my friends. Though The Social Climber is a sophisticated cinema-lover, she does partake in the occasional dumb comedy. And one of the best of the 1990s is coming back for more. As the infamous Farrelly brothers launch pre-production of the sequel to their 1994 classic, "Dumb and Dumber," Jim Carrey tweeted a photo of his donning the teeth of his nincompoop character.
"GESS HUUZ BAK BICHEZ?" Carrey captioned the image.
Is it hurricane season already? Yes, it is. Tropical Storm Humberto is gaining strength in the far eastern Atlantic, and is now forecast to become the 2013 season's first hurricane. Humberto is now about 3,000 miles from the United States, so is not yet a threat. But it looks like it's time to dust off those wellies.

Stay tuned, and start picturing Tebow in full KISS make up. The Social Climber is.

Rafael Nadal does it, again! The Spanish sensation took home his second U.S. Open Men's Singles title Monday night, knocking out Serb Novak Djokovic 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1. The match at New York's Arthur Ashe Stadium lasted a breezy three hours and 21 minutes.
The Social Climber missed Nadal at last year's Slam while he was out with a knee injury and it was great to see him in top form.
"Having this success is amazing," Nadal said at a post match press conference. "I never expected it. That's life and I'm lucky to have what I'm having."
